Well I guess obviously they do (hellooooo China), but is it ever referred to? No way, Asians are demure and whatever else goes with that stereotype.
Funny:
Anyway, the show is over and up comes an ad starring “Mr. and Mrs. Mark,” an attractive young Asian couple in their bed. “She’s a screamer,” the man says. The ad is for K-Y Intense, an “arousal gel for her.” Mrs. Mark demurely declares she uses it “so that big moment feels like nothing I’ve ever felt before.” Then comes a shot of her standing next to a geyser. Witty. The female announcer tells us that K-Y Intense is “proven to intensify female satisfaction.”
There’s a reality show called A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.
Was the show any more reprehensible than other reality shows that treat men and women like beefcake and love like a contest because of its bisexual twist? Maybe.
That seems more indicative of uneasiness with a non-heterosexual relationship. I’m not going to say that VH1′s mainstreaming of bisexuality indicates support of different sexual orientations (because it’s doing a lot of damage to this area of the sexual spectrum, with such a contrived and narrowly focused display), but hey at least it’s an acknowledgement that other sexualities deserve recognition.
